Makeup, what are you covering?

Makeup is a fantastic tool for people for helping feel more confident. Used sparingly it can create amazing results. Covering blemishes, dark circles, or just adding a little brightness to a dull face can do magic.

Personally I just put on some concealer to get rid of circles and some blemishes and maybe mascara and chap stick if my lips are chapped for my everyday look. I also love being creative with some far out eye makeup like bold colors that look outrageous. Everyday I practice like any form of art and get inspired to make something amazing. I just do this for fun to take pictures and share with others.

But then today I was watching a popular 16 year old on youtube doing a foundation tutorial. What's wrong with this... she's 16!! Foundation?! Ok, alright, maybe you're thinking she has bad acne or bags. NO, she looks fine. I watched her put all her makeup on from start to finish and to be 100% honest, the beginning without makeup looked the same as the end with makeup.

If you have good skin why would you cover it up everyday? What are you covering?! Young ladies shouldn't be doing this. Most have gorgeous skin, why not show it? More makeup makes you look older anyway. Show off your youth and let it shine.

So... I was just watching the new music video for Miley Cyrus (Can't be Tamed)... Well, it pretty much speaks for itself doesn't it?

Her voice sounded good and she looked beautiful. The lyrics were outrageous and innovative. People seem to be quite offended when they see this once Disney child star trying to grow up and express herself. Now, unless these people are concerned parents, I don't see what the big deal is.

First of all, if you don't like Miley to begin with, there's one simple method you could try out... don't watch her videos! Second, the music video was done very well and was pretty cool so give it a chance. What's so different about her singing a song like this and some Christine Aguilera songs? What about Candyman or Dirrty? Those songs were in fact worse in a sense! Take a look at the lyrics.

Although, I also would like to say that maybe she did go a little too far or maybe went about it too soon. She still is only a teenager and is still being watched by many of her young fans. Unfortunately she still has a responsibility as a role model.

Parents might find this hard to explain why they don't want their children watching her anymore. Kids may question why they were aloud in the past and not now. It gets really tricky when a child star turns into a sex symbol.

Perhaps if Disney stars weren't always supposed to look good and innocent, they wouldn't feel the need to totally different. Trying to be perfect all the time may repress tendencies to do something they shouldn't. And repression will only lead up to a big explosion of things they shouldn't do.

All in all, maybe Miley should have waited until she was a few years older or made some videos that lead up to this raunchy one. She needs to remember that she is still a role model. I guess this is the price of being famous...

Finals....

Oh poo, it's that time again... You've done fairly well this semester...or not. Sometimes if you're lucky you're final is just like another mid-term examination and if you've done well, you could possibly afford to skip it, great!

But sometimes your final is worth more than half of your entire grade!! What?! Don't get me wrong, I do understand the concept, you want students to know everything that was taught in the course so they will be more knowledgeable for the future. Well that's fine and dandy, but maybe, just maybe these students have other classes. Just taking a stab in the dark.

But come on! It's just so stressful. Just earlier today I was looking at work done at the beginning of the term. If I had not known any better I would have thought it was years since I learned the material. Hopefully studying my bum off will do!

And to all of those with finals ahead or in the past, I wish you all the best =)
Hello,

This blog does not have a specific theme yet. I feel it would be nice to have each post starting off where the other left off. Eventually, I'm sure something will protrude and become the center of future topics, but in the meantime random Tid bits are sure to be the norm.
